In this course, the student will learn essential safety, basic handgun operation, and core marksmanship fundamentals with supervised live-fire practice
Learning Objectives (by course end)
- Explain Ohio law governing use of force, self‑defense, and statutory CHL rules.
- Name, explain, and demonstrate the rules for safe handling and storage of handguns and ammunition.
- Demonstrate competency in safe loading/unloading, basic malfunction clearance, and safe holster/retention manipulations.
- Complete a written exam covering laws, safe handling, and basic ballistics/marksmanship concepts.
- Complete an in‑person live‑fire proficiency exercise (practical demonstration) under instructor supervision. Please Add as well "Specialized One on One Instruction" $150 for the first 2-hr (required) and $50 for every hour after.

In this course, the student will develop the mindset, skills, and confidence to safely and effectively use a handgun for personal defense, emphasizing accuracy under stress, movement, and situational awareness.
Learning Objectives (by course end)
- Demonstrate safe firearm handling under dynamic conditions (drawing, movement, reloads, malfunctions).
- Perform efficient draws from the holster and engage targets accurately at defensive distances
- Conduct emergency and tactical reloads smoothly.
- Identify and clear common handgun malfunctions under time pressure
- Move safely to and from cover while engaging targets.
- Understand use-of-force principles and post incident considerations.
- Demonstrate mindset and awareness fundamentals for defensive encounters.
